Through her education, Marialena has learned and appreciated the importance of “cura personalis,” which calls for the respect of every individual in their entirety. Whether through education or employment, Marialena strives to embody this principle in her daily work. These highly influential experiences in both higher education and the business technology discipline ultimately led Marialena to enroll in Mendoza’s inaugural PhD in Analytics cohort. Notre Dame’s doctoral degree program is extremely unique in that students are taught to “consider the ethical dimension of data and its usage.” Marialena truly believes that Mendoza’s PhD in Analytics program allows her to fulfill her passion of employing cura personalis through scholarly ethics-based research and teaching.

One of Jefferson’s favorite aspects of the Mendoza College of Business is its slogan, “Grow the Good in Business.” Throughout his professional and educational experiences, Jefferson has seen the importance of understanding how seemingly small personal actions and interactions with others can lead to consequential outcomes. He is excited to be part of Mendoza’s inaugural Management Ph.D. cohort and the opportunities this brings to grow the good in business by exploring and pushing the boundaries of management research.
