NDDCEL supports the annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Grow the Good in BusinessTM Case Competition

Dei Case Comp Header
Corporate partners are invited to participate!

The annual Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Grow the Good in Business™ Case Competition is underway. Corporate partners have the opportunity to work with top business students and gain innovative ideas for advancing DE&I in their organizations. The competition fosters mutually beneficial relationships between students and sponsoring organizations, which is an important advantage in talent recruitment.

The Competition joins the forces of students at the Mendoza College of Business and business leaders who are committed to equity and inclusion in the workplace. The competition challenges undergraduate and graduate student teams to solve a business case focused on a current DE&I issue while engaging with companies willing to share their real-world challenges and expectations in striving for a more equitable society.

Depending on the level of engagement, corporate partners supply judges and/or keynote speakers for the final round of competition, host networking events, and have the opportunity to engage with student participants on panels and in workshops or office hours. If you are interested in learning more about corporate partnership, or other DE&I initiatives at Mendoza, please contact Kristen Collett-Schmitt, Associate Dean for Innovation and Inclusion, Teaching Professor and NDDCEL Faculty Fellow. We are grateful to existing corporate partners include KPMG, Kemper, ADP, 1st Source Bank, Gibson, and South Bend - Elkhart Regional Partnership.

Please mark your calendars and join us for the exciting final round of competition - free and open to the public - on April 12, 2024 in the Stayer Center on the campus of Notre Dame. Go Irish!

Fukushima Flower Farmers With Team
Research team with farmers and small business owners Yoshitomo and Hiroko Yokota

NDDCEL-affiliated students and faculty are participating in a research experience studying economic and communityrecovery and resilience after natural disasters.  The team visited the Fukushima region of Japan in June 2023 and share their experiences via a podcast episode with the ThinkND team.  Hear about small business owners pivoting their enterprises with innovation and perseverance - including beautiful flower fields on an agricultural site that has been family-owned for generations.

The research is a headline feature at ND Stories.

You can also listen to the podcast here and check out more information at the ND Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies, which supports this project.  (September 2023)
